If your cancellation is at least 14 days in advance of the class, you will receive a full refund. If you are unable to attend the workshop, please let us know as soon as possible. This gives us the opportunity to fill the class.
Taking into account the current COVID-19 situation, we decided that if your cancellation is less than 72 hours in advance AND COVID-19 related, you will receive a gift certificate to attend a future class. 👀 WHAT TO EXPECT 👀
Jazz -> Our Level 3 Jazz Workshop focuses on advanced jazz skills and tricks. Learn how to do switch leaps, center leap, backwards/reverse leap, turning leaps, leg hold turns, tilt hold/drop, fouettes, a la second turns, and more!
Contemporary -> Our Level 3 Contemporary Workshop aims to develop your individual artistic voice, supports awareness and investigation of the body and helps you to grow as a unique dancer. Inspired by modern dance and imagery techniques, based on classical ballet - from a contemporary perspective. (Choreography+Improv)
👯♀️ LEVEL 3 👯♀️
Both Jazz and Contemporary will be taught at Level 3. Our Level 3 workshops are for intermediate/advanced dancers who have mastered foundational jazz, contemporary, or ballet steps and want to keep improving their skills.
Jazz Pre-requisites:
- single pirouette
- leaps with tombe pas de bourrée & chassé prep
- kicks (front, side, back)
- chaîné turns
- piqué turns
Contemporary Pre-requisites:
- Modern Dance / Classical Ballet Basics (body positions and directions, pliés, tendus, chassé, pas de bourrée, port de bras...)
- Curiosity about improvisation and tools for quicker choreography learning
- Floorwork Basics (shoulder rolls)
❤️ ABOUT GENIE & SANDY ❤️
✨ GENIE
Genie is from Los Angeles and has been dancing since she was 3. Her dance education stems from her time at Gotta Dance Studio, Burbank Media City Ballet, Millenium Dance Complex, The EDGE Performing Arts Center, and Ballett-Akademie Graz. She's also danced on several teams. These include Icarus Contemporary, NSU Modern, and Dance Production Graz. Her favorite styles are jazz, contemporary, and ballet.
Genie believes that nothing is comparable to the thrill of learning new dance skills. She shares this unique adrenaline rush with her students by helping them push their limits but always in a safe and technique focused environment.
✨ SANDRIA
Sandria is a dancer, dance educator and sports/dance scientist who is trained in ballet, modern and contemporary dance as well as jazz, character and showdance. Her dance journey started 20 years ago and at the age of 8 she began her professional dance education in Austria. As a member of the International Association for Dance Medicine and Science, Sandria focuses on movement pedagogy, performance psychology and dancer's health. She received her further education in dance and dance education at the WWU College of Fine and Performing Arts (USA) as well as during workshops and trainings in Austria, Germany, Canada and the US.
Sandria has been performing at the Performing Arts Center Bellingham as well as with the Australian Contemporary Circus "Circa", the french company la Compagnie XY and Dance Production Graz. In her classes, the teacher aims to promote body awareness, self-confidence and a positive attitude towards movement exploration.
✨ NIMROD
Nimrod Poles was born in Tel Aviv in 1995. He is a graduate of the dance department at the Aleph High School of Arts and the Professional Dance Training Program ’Maslool - Bikurey Ha’itim Arts Center’ in Tel Aviv. Nimrod was an apprentice with Batsheva - The Young Ensemble (artistic director: Ohad Naharin) in the 2013/2014 season, performing in Israel and abroad.
Nimrod worked with the choreographers Sharon Vazanna, Miquel G. Font, Maya Popova and Ido Tadmor and in the 2017/2018 season he was engaged as a guest dancer with Graz Oper Ballett, Austria (artistic director: Jörg Weinöhl). In the 2018/2019 season, Nimrod was employed as a dancer with the dance company at Theater St. Gallen, Switzerland (artistic director: Beate Vollack) and danced in pieces by Felix Landerer, Yuki Mori and Beate Vollack. From August 2019 until June 2021, Nimrod was a member of Tanz Linz (artistic direction: Mei-Hong Lin) at the Landestheater Linz, Austria. As of July 2021, Nimrod is a freelance artist based in Graz, Austria.
