Always wanted to learn how to dance? Here's your chance! Our Foundations Series: Intro to Dance will introduce you to ballet, jazz, and contemporary basics. This weekend workshop is for beginners and those completely new to these dance styles 😊

Refunds & Cancellations

If your cancellation is at least 7 days in advance of the class, you will receive a full refund. If you are unable to attend the workshop, please let us know as soon as possible. This gives us the opportunity to fill the class.

If your cancellation is less than 7 days in advance of the class and COVID related, please contact us directly at foundationscollective@gmail.com. We will evaluate these refund requests on a case-by-case basis.

👀 What to Expect 👀

Intro to Dance will introduce you to the basics of each dance style. You'll learn the beginning steps of ballet, jazz, and contemporary and start to build a great foundation to keep dancing. We'll also talk together about dance theory, injury prevention, and anatomically correct technique.

Intro to Dance is the first part of our Foundations Series. These classes are built specifically for beginners and those who are new to ballet, jazz, or contemporary. No experience required!

❤️ About the Instructors ❤️

✨SIGRID

Sigrid Glatz, who is originally from Graz, graduated from the State Ballet Academy Berlin with a Bachelor of Arts degree in stage dance. There she gained stage experience at the Berlin State Opera. As she closed her chapter in Berlin, Sigrid moved to New York and performed as a soloist at the Roxey ballet company. Afterwards, she moved to the ballet company of the Graz Opera House, where she also held soloist roles. In Graz, she became a soloist herself with a projection of her own choreography on the façade of the Opera House and the Vienna St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna. The next engagement brought her to the Moravian Theater of the Czech Republic. She danced in the Corp de Ballet in many classical masterpieces such as Swan Lake, Bayadere, Spartacus, and many more.

She completed her training as a ballet teacher with the PDPTC at the Royal Academy of Dance. She is a jury member of the Vienna Joint Commission for classical ballet. She completed further training at the Bolshoi Academy Moscow, on Broadway, in Paris etc. At the University of Graz, she works as a ballet teacher. Her current maste's study in Switzerland trains her in the field of dance medicine and psychology and education. Sigrid recently opened her own ballet school in Graz, Ballett Akademie Graz.

✨ GENIE

Genie is from Los Angeles and has been dancing since she was 3. Her dance education stems from her time at Gotta Dance Studio, Burbank Media City Ballet, Millenium Dance Complex, The EDGE Performing Arts Center, and Ballett-Akademie Graz. She's also danced on several teams. These include Icarus Contemporary, NSU Modern, and Dance Production Graz. Her favorite styles are jazz, contemporary, and ballet.

She currently lives in Graz and teaches jazz, ballet, and contemporary with Dance Production Graz and Ballett Akadamie Graz.

Genie believes that nothing is comparable to the thrill of learning new dance skills. She shares this unique adrenaline rush with her students by helping them push their limits but always in a safe and technique focused environment.

✨ SANDRIA

Sandria is a dancer, dance educator and sports/dance scientist who is trained in ballet, modern and contemporary dance as well as jazz, character and showdance. Her dance journey started 20 years ago and at the age of 8 she began her professional dance education in Austria. As a member of the International Association for Dance Medicine and Science, Sandria focuses on movement pedagogy, performance psychology and dancer's health. She received her further education in dance and dance education at the WWU College of Fine and Performing Arts (USA) as well as during workshops and trainings in Austria, Germany, Canada and the US.

Sandria has been performing at the Performing Arts Center Bellingham as well as with the Australian Contemporary Circus "Circa", the french company la Compagnie XY and Dance Production Graz. In her classes, the teacher aims to promote body awareness, self-confidence and a positive attitude towards movement exploration.
