👀 What to Expect 👀
We’re offering two levels so everyone can feel both supported and challenged. Contemporary Fusion in this workshop is not one fixed style, but a way to explore beyond traditional contemporary. The focus will be on choreography, blending different influences and encouraging you to move between technique and freedom, structure and personal expression.
Beginner: Perfect for dancers who are new to contemporary and fusion styles or want to strengthen their foundation. We will focus on learning choreography that incorporates basic technique, fluid transitions, and simple floor work, while gently exploring different movement qualities. The class is supportive and gives you space to build confidence while expressing yourself.
Intermediate/Advanced: Designed for experienced dancers comfortable with contemporary technique and floor work. This class will move at a faster pace and teach more complex choreography with dynamic transitions, textures, and expressive movement. You will be challenged to expand your movement vocabulary and deepen your artistic interpretation.
The classes will be taught in German. However, Pia also speaks English and is happy to support any non-German speakers who would like to join.
Meet pia Foertsch 🤍
Pia is originally from Freiburg and is a dancer specializing in Contemporary and Jazz Dance. She began her dance training in 2010 at DanceEmotion in Freiburg, where she was part of the competition companies and competed multiple times at the Dance World Cup, winning two World Champion titles in the Jazz Dance category.
In 2024, she completed a six-month professional training program at Motions Dance School in Berlin, studying Contemporary, Contact, Commercial, House, Hip Hop, Improvisation, Jazz Dance, and Floorwork.
While in Berlin, she performed in several video projects and live performances, and also taught Contemporary Fusion and Jazz Dance. Pia values a holistic approach to dance, connecting technique, expression, and individual movement language. She places special emphasis on creativity, body awareness, and authentic artistic expression.
